    Master in the Study of Addictions

    It addresses the root of the problem in the prevention and treatment of addictions from a psychodynamic approach.

    AGREEMENTS WITH SPECIALIZED INSTITUTIONS

    To make possible the professional practice of the students we have agreements with the Institute for the Care and Prevention of Addictions in Mexico City (IAPA) and the Centers for Youth Integration (CIJ).

    Curriculum
    First semester

    • Introduction to the study of addictions.
    • Theories and explanatory models of addictions. -Neurological, pharmacological and clinical bases of addictions.
    • Foundations in addiction prevention.

    From the 2nd semester, students must choose based on their admission profile between the Specialty in Psychotherapeutic Intervention or Specialty in Preventive Intervention. Students will participate in supervised practice activities.

    Second semester - Psychotherapeutic Intervention

    • Analytical psychology of addictions.
    • Detection, evaluation and orientation of the addicted patient.
    • Psychopathology of addictions.
    • Personality structure of the addicted individual.
    • Group supervision begins.

    Second semester - Preventive Intervention

    • Prevention programs in the school and family context.
    • Prevention programs in the workplace and community context.
    • Design, implementation and evaluation of prevention programs.
    • Design of prevention campaigns in the media.

    Third semester- Psychotherapeutic Intervention

    • Brief psychodynamic intervention in addictions.
    • Clinical practice.
    • Fundamentals of the risk and harm reduction approach.
    • Research Methods.
    • Fundamentals of the risk and harm reduction approach.
    • Research Methods.

    Third semester- Preventive Intervention

    • Evidence-based preventive and treatment interventions.
    • In-service practice.
    • Research Methods.
    • Fundamentals of the risk and harm reduction approach.

    At the end of the third semester and covering the corresponding requirements, you obtain the degree of Specialty

    Fourth semester

    • Research seminar I.
    • Development of projects in addictions I.
    • Selected topics in addictions I (family and addictions).
    • Strategies for the prevention of risks and damages.

    Fifth semester

    • Research seminar II.
    • Development of projects in addictions II.
